Best Realtors in McKenzie Towne, Calgary: How to Choose
Published October 18, 2026 · Last reviewed October 19, 2026 · By Jason Todd, Calgary REALTOR® · McKenzie Towne
The short answer. McKenzie Towne is four villages — High Street, Inverness, Elgin, and Prestwick — with laned detached homes, townhouses, and condos. A good agent can tell you how each pocket sells, what the residents' association fee actually covers, and how close a house sits to the BRT 302 terminal at High Street. This community sold 323 homes from October 19, 2025 through October 14, 2026. I live here.

I list and sell in southeast Calgary with Standard Realty Co. If you are choosing a McKenzie Towne realtor, skip the ranking badge. Ask who lives here, who can put matching solds on the table, and who still answers the phone after the sign goes up.

My McKenzie Towne track record
I have been the McKenzie Towne real estate lead since 2012 and served as Vice President of McKenzie Towne Council. The MLS® sold file I can show from 2021 onward — that is as far back as this database goes — has 6 McKenzie Towne files with my name on them: 3 as listing agent, 3 as buyer’s agent. I will not round that up. If someone quotes hundreds of homes with no community and no date, ask which board and which years. Then ask for McKenzie Towne.
The Jason Todd Realtor Google profile is 5.0 from 54 reviews (last counted September 2026).
What a good McKenzie Towne realtor should know
1. The four villages. High Street, Inverness, Elgin, and Prestwick do not compete as one blob. A house next to High Street does not price like a quieter street deeper in Prestwick. If an agent cannot name which pocket your house sits in, keep walking.
2. The product mix. A lot of the detached stock is laned — front porch, garage off the back. Buyers compare that against townhouses and condos on purpose. Garage story, lot, and living area have to match before a sold is a sold. That is how a list price gets set.
3. The residents' association fee. McKenzie Towne has an annual RA fee. It is not a condo fee, and it is not optional on most titles. A good agent can tell you what it typically covers (hall, parks, programs) and will confirm the current amount on the property you are buying or listing — not guess from a blog.
4. The commute, at the hour you actually drive. Deerfoot Trail, Stoney Trail, and 52 Street SE are the exits. BRT Route 302 leaves from the High Street terminal. “Twenty minutes downtown” is not a useful answer at 7:45 a.m. Ask for the drive they actually do.
Living in McKenzie Towne
Carma (now Brookfield) started building here in 1995. The community is fully built, so inventory is resale: laned singles, semis, townhouses, and condos across High Street, Inverness, Elgin, and Prestwick. About 17,505 people lived here at the 2021 census.
Schools. McKenzie Towne School (CBE, K–6), McKenzie Highlands School (CBE, Grades 4–9), and St. Albert the Great School (Calgary Catholic, K–9). Designations move. Check the boards, not a listing remark.
Parks and rec. McKenzie Towne Hall sits on the traffic circle. Prestwick Common, Inverness Square, Promenade Park, and Elgin Hill are the named greens. Pathways, ponds, a splash park, an outdoor rink, and a skate park are part of the everyday use.
Shopping. High Street is the walkable main street — shops, services, a Sobeys. Bigger boxes sit on 130 Avenue SE.
Hospital. South Health Campus is in Seton, on the other side of Stoney Trail — a short drive, 24-hour emergency.
Getting around. The McKenzie Towne bus terminal and park-and-ride sit next to High Street and run BRT Route 302 downtown. Deerfoot, Stoney, and 52 Street SE are the road exits. A future Green Line stop is planned near High Street; it is not in service yet.
Three questions to ask any McKenzie Towne realtor
1. Which village does my house compete with? High Street, Inverness, Elgin, or Prestwick — and how do laned detached sales compare with townhouses of similar size here?
2. Show me matching solds from the last six months. Same type, close in size, same garage story, sold vs original list. Not how many they listed last year. Not a city benchmark. That is the method.
3. Who picks up after the listing goes live? Showings, offers, conditions, possession. If the answer is a generic team inbox, keep interviewing.
How I help if you buy or sell here
I live in McKenzie Towne. Selling, I price from recent solds that match the house, then market it like a McKenzie Towne listing — not generic southeast Calgary. Start on sell a home in McKenzie Towne. Buying, I will tell you which street and which product actually fit the budget before you write an offer. Live inventory: McKenzie Towne homes for sale.
Jason's Take
Pick the agent who can walk Prestwick, Elgin, Inverness, and High Street without a map, who will price from last winter’s solds, and who will not inflate a file count. I live here. Call if you want that walk-through on your house.
